Hey, I’m Monika!

I’m passionate about the power of writing together and how it helps build kind and imaginative relationships between people.

When we write together, there is a shared crackle of creativity, increased compassion for each other, and a deeper sense of connection.

I love to help facilitate that kind of connection in my writing parties and private workshops. (We also have a boatload of fun! 🎉)

My writing parties and private workshops are available to book in Victoria, Langford, Saanich, and anywhere on the peninsula.

  • Every great party has a theme! Here are your thematic possibilities:

    • The Playful Pen (how to experiment and get messy with your creativity)

    • Tales in Tiny Packages (how to write very, very short stories)

    • Narrative Structure 101 (simple storytelling “formulas” to help you design a story from start to finish)

    • Discover Your Writing Voice (fun tools and strategies for beginner writers)

    • Building Stories Together (collaborative storytelling in pairs and groups)

💌 How to Book a Writing Party

  • A writing party is 2 hours long. (It’ll fly by, I promise!)

  • It costs $250 + GST for up to 8 guests.

    • (If you have more than 8 guests, please let me know, and we can work something out!)

  • You can book a writing party on:

    • Thursday evenings (anytime between 4pm to 9pm)

    • Friday evenings (anytime between 4pm to 9pm)

    • Sunday mornings (anytime between 9am to 1pm)

Private Workshop FAQ

  • You can either email me directly at [email protected] or fill out the contact form above.

  • My workshops are flexible. I suggest a workshop size of up to 8 people, but I can adjust my workshop to fit your group’s needs.

  • Private workshop dates are currently only available on Thursdays evenings, Friday evenings, and Sunday mornings.

    You can book evening workshops anytime between 4pm to 9pm. Morning workshops are anytime between 9am to 1pm.

    I arrange my private workshops around my public workshop schedule (and my freelance schedule), so it’s best to reach out with 4-6 weeks notice so I can accommodate your date more easily. Please feel free to reach out though if you’re planning something sooner, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your group.

  • Private workshops can take place anytime between 10 am to 8 pm.

  • Yes, absolutely! I’m happy to travel and facilitate workshops in Victoria, Langford, Saanich, and anywhere up the peninsula.

  • Currently, my writing workshops are for anyone 16 years and older.

    However, if you’re interested in writing workshops for young authors, please visit Story Studio’s website for details about their programs.
