“Every story, from the simplest picture book to the most epic fantasy novel, begins with the question: Hmmm, what if?” - Lisa Cron
There is no “right” way to write a story. But—have you ever noticed most stories (and characters) follow a similar narrative journey?
We love reading stories that pick and pluck at our heartstrings. These stories are the ones where we care deeply about the struggles and triumphs of the main character.
Want to learn the simple storytelling formulas behind a compelling narrative?
Join me on January 7th as we write together and learn how to design a story from start to finish!
This workshop is great for anyone who:
Likes to write a lot—or a little!
Wants to try out a single writing workshop (it’s a quick 1.5 hours)
Looks forward to writing within a small group (there will never be more than 8 writers in the workshop)
You can expect to leave the workshop with:
Creative “formulas” for writing a meaningful story
At least a few paragraphs of new writing
Prompts to inspire your writing practice when you return home
A feeling of creative curiosity and possibility ✨
Where we’ll write:
This workshop will be at Greenglade Community Recreation Centre in Room 1. (2151 Lannon Way, Sidney, BC)

My short synopsis: I’m a freelance author of 50+ books for schools, and I firmly believe everyone is a writer. I also have a sky-high love for freshly-popped popcorn.
Want to get to know me better? I’ve got a mini bio here.
